my hands and especially my nails always get super dry. of course it's getting worse now in the colder weather. it sucks because I really like having long nails - I always paint them and I prefer how they look long. but they're pretty much as thin as paper and they break very easily, so it's really hard to grow them out.

I've tried a lot of oils and stuff. I've tried using hand cream throughout the day. I've tried cream specifically for the cuticles. but, the issue with that has always been that I'm allergic to pretty much anything with perfume in it. my nose and face burn and itch for ages anytime I use anything like that. the only hand cream I've found that I can use (that isn't insanely expensive) doesn't have perfume, but the smell still makes my nose hurt.

so anyway, I finally did what I've seen recommended about a million times - I bought a bottle of jojoba oil. and it's just. fine. it's totally fine. I have to get used to the smell (it smells like food and furniture, weirdly), but it's not too strong, and it's been totally fine so far! I hope it'll stay that way. it would be really awesome if I could use this stuff on my nails every day without my face burning!

hmmm… I don’t have any strong opinions about them all together but I have a LOT of feelings on all these duos separately. Like I feel in my brain they have no business interacting sometimes despite how intertwined they all are.

I loooove past sweaterduo a lot so so so much though. I like their conniving young man dynamic from whenever they were on SMPLive ( which I consider lore for sir schlattface . He doesn’t have a choice. Therefore everyone else who was there is also included. ) I think the fact the reason they got along in the first place also being their downfall is SIIIICKENING!!!! SWEATERDUO CAN AND WILL BE NARRATIVE FOILS TO THOSE WHO ARE STRONG ENOUGH! The way they think and act and feel about the world is soooo very similar but they execute it and such terribly different ways that it literally blows up back into their face no matter what they do. 9. What really random/weird thing do they love about each other?

It's summer time in the city and I think Ian has a funny habit of grabbing Mickey without warning and rubbing sunscreen all over his face and neck and exposed shoulders (not gently, by the way) without pausing their conversation like he's not currently assaulting Mickey's face with his big strong hands and sun protection because it's something he's done to his little siblings and Fiona's done to him a billion times before. He has all these little second nature caring-not-coddling habits that come with living with his siblings for all of his life and even though Mickey struggles and feels like he got hit by an SPF tornado he secretly kind of likes it.

And Ian looooves that Mickey loves the word husband. "Hey, my husband ordered extra mustard" "You're my husband, I've to worry" "I got that lemon scented soap you like, who's the best husband around, huh?" It's Mickey's favorite thing he's ever been called or called himself and is very clear that Mickey likes the 'we-ness' that being married gives them.

10. What was the first ‘present’ they gave each other but pretended it wasn’t a present?  

Ian definitely gave Mickey a comic or a stolen magazine or something that he referenced at some point when they hung out kind of early on in a very ‘here’s that thing I was telling you about, no big deal or whatever but if you want to take a look you can borrow it’ way and he got really excited when Mickey took it. I honestly don't know if Mickey ever actually read or looked at it and it might have gotten swallowed by the Milkovich house but Ian was excited that Mickey seemed interested enough in what he was talking about to at least say he'd take a look.

Mickey however just randomly shoved a wrinkled ziplock bag with barely a joint's worth of truly shitty leftover weed into Ian's hand as they were parting ways for the night and walked away before Ian could ask about it and Ian was just left standing on the sidewalk wondering why the hell Mickey just handed it to him (it was flirting)

HIIII (so actually despite living here for basically my whole life ive always been sort of disconnected from irishness but this is what ive noticed ppl and friends around me do!)

I was just having a conversation about digestives yesterday with my family. Theres so many diff versions of them but just the orginal is the best biscuit. Also jacobs cream crackers <33 if we forgot our lunch in primary school we'd get cream crackers with butter and a caprisun. Best time of my life. I would sometimes purposefully leave my lunch at home. Other snacks are taytos obvi, pringles and idk theres a lot of diff snacks that im sure overlap in other countries!

Restaurants irish folks go to rlly depends. A lot of people loooove a chinese, we have so many Chinese restaurants in the tiny town i live in its kind of crazy. We have a mcdonalds too, but we also have like irish fast foods like supermacs or denjoes/apache pizza. Chippers (fish + chip shops) are a thing but not as common i think now or at least not to the people around me. Our fancier restaurants are either like specialty stuff as in italian, etcetc. But the rest of restaurants all have the same types of foods, so you'd usually have some sort of beef(stew, steak anything rlly), a salmon and a battered fish, soup obv (usually vegetable with brown bread) and some type of curry. Hotel restaurants are also a common place to eat at!

Also in regards to food, going to a gas station to get hot chicken rolls is the best. Ppl also get breakfast rolls which is just a bread roll with the fillings of a full irish breakfast. Most atrocious yet delicious thing ever.

Sodas are fizzy drinks to us, and we obv have the standard pepsi, cola, fanta and sprite. But we also have 7up which is spirte and club orange which is (so much better than) fanta. I looove club lemon especially rheres just something abt a sour lemon fizzy drink<3 lucazade is very popular. Its a glucose fizzy drink and its honestly so unhealthy but it is so good. Theres different flavours but the best is rhe original red. It also has a sport drink version.

five important baby updates:

he is really into grabbing your face in his hands and carefully pressing his open mouth against your cheek (a “kiss”) and it’s sooooo cute. but I think what is cutest is that he is self-aware enough to realize that people find this behavior adorable, so he gets this very smug “I’m about to do something sooooo cute that you are going to loooove” look on his face right before he starts kissing you 😂 I love this little goober.

he is getting so good at sitting up!!! he can now sit up totally on his own in his little supportive bath seat and he loves to sit there like a little king on his throne kicking at his bath toys and talking to you in an imperious little voice until you help his toys swim over to him (so he can grab them and chomp them).

he had his first restaurant high chair meal yesterday and did so well!! he LOVED eating lemon (this strange child) and sour cream. he was tentatively interested in raspberries, baked potato, and burrata. he hated arugula with his entire being and cried furiously until my mom fished it out of his mouth.

he is SO into toys right now and NOT into being snuggled except on rare occasions like when he’s sleepy or sad. in the mornings I’ll be trying to sing to him or get him to talk to me and his gaze is just fixed unwaveringly on his pile of toys on the floor. he’s like mother I do NOT have time to talk right now. there are so many toys to chomp and crinkle and whack really hard on the ground.

we visited both daycares again and I made a final decision and I feel really good about it!! I think/hope he is going to love it. I think he’s kind of getting bored at home sometimes but I also don’t always have it in me to do a big outing (soooo tired). so I think it will be good for him to get more stimulation and have some new experiences.
